The Mothers’ Union members in the diocese of Peterborough were very pleased to be asked to knit these teddies for Kate to take to Swaziland. The project gripped the imagination of the members, and we found new knitters in our midst.
The “teddies with love” pattern was adapted and the enthusiasm accelerated. In fact I had to limit the number that each member knitted!
Mothers’ Union supports families and communities worldwide with prayer and practical help. We are delighted to do something to help the orphanage… a family in itself. We hope that the teddies give as much joy to the children as they gave us as we knitted them.
We send best wishes to Kate and feel sure that she will achieve her goal of “making a child smile.” She will be remembered in our prayers.
